FOREST SURVEILLANCE

Chief Tapi Yawalapiti

The Xingu Territory and its people are threatened by illegal fishing, hunting, logging, fires and agro-chemicals used in neighboring farms.

AFV assists the indigenous communities in their efforts to monitor the forest  and focuses on re-equipping existing surveillance posts.

AFV also regularly assists local communities through the provision of firefighter equipment and seeks to provide training to improve response time to uncontrolled wild-fires.
